Pinwheel picnic blanket
I have this fantasy that I will be able to acquire/borrow a sewing machine while I'm in the states next year and will do a couple creative sewing projects that are in my head. Today I saw a delightful pattern using "recycled fabrics" (meaning old clothes and thrift store re-fabric finds) that would be WONDERFUL for my little girl. She loves to lay in the yard with her books & dolls on a long summer afternoon. Our dog seems to nudge his way between all her stuff and spend a good deal of time enjoying her cozy outside space as well. This would be affordable, do-able and a delight to use. Click on mealnie fallick's blog site to see 22 other photos of ideas from her book Sew Green.
