Kimono Baby Sweater

I knit a premie/newborn size baby kimono sweater from a free online pattern I found at fortheloveofyarn.com It was designed by Erika Flory and was easy to knit and came together with minimal seaming and great structure. I had problems with her eyelet-garter band around the neckline and decided to give up after the third try and use a nice bind off.

I knit using artesano inca mist - a deep gray 100% baby alpaca yarn that was pure delight to hold and play with. I've been snuggling up to his little sweater all week since I've finished it. Feels great. The Mom is a natural fiber girl and will love this on her firstborn baby.

The binding off techique left a cute scallop type edging around the front for a nice texturing. Bindoffs are structurally interesting.

A great knit. I'm looking forward to visiting tomorrow and giving it as a present - although I'll miss cuddling with it when it's gone!

If you're a Ravelry girl, look on my notebook (yomamaknits) and get all the specs
