French Wine

My friend, Greg, just came back from a weekend in France bearing the kind of gift I LOVE. A bottle of wine that he bought from a local vineyard near his friend's place. A Gewurtztraminer. A hard find for us right now. It was a midly spicy wine with a beautiful clear yellow color. Delightful to drink.

To open such a special bottle I made a baked hermelein/roasted garlic bread bowl appetizer. Delicious with the spicy, smooth wine. We followed it up with a middle eastern curried lentil soup with sour cream garnish. The bottle was finished by the end with a flourish. It actually received a clapping ovation in the kitchen for such superior taste & enjoyment.

Dessert was Lindt christmas cinnamon chocolate almond bites and Starbucks christmas coffee with cinnamon flavor and whipped cream. What a decadent and enjoyable meal. Thanks Greg for the inspiration!
