Color Parade

We live in a mountain town glowing with Fall colors (when the sun is out and the fog has lifted!). But most of our color is up on the mountainsides, running up and down slopes surrounding us. However, the long entrance ramp onto the highway has a burst of colored trees nestled right against the road. Something about the incline of the ramp, the closeness of the trees, the surrounding hills on the far side, all make a 10 second tunnel of color. We've taken to calling this the Color Parade - 10 seconds of surround beauty on the way out to another errand and basketball practice carpool. A 10 second Fall breather. My new sacred space. The Color Parade.

(I'd include a photo but it's so dark and rainy today even the color parade is shrouded!)
