Rotary Slave

I have two children at home with strep infections and high fevers. My son's fever is lower today and he's starting to have some energy - so I dubbed him my "Rotary Slave". He spent the next couple of hours with my fat quarters (referring to fabric - not a specific body part!) using the rotary cutter & board to cut them into 4.5 inch strips.

As he cut, I busied myself with ironing the strips, piecing & sewing them together. We were able to get the vertical strips all pieced together and 3 of the 9 sewn together. Then we ran out of steam for the day.

It's wonderful having a Rotary Slave! It quickened the first day of jumping into a quilt project. Besides his great cutting skills, it was nice having someone to think aloud with and to keep my math on track. I could also call him my Math Slave = but that sounds like torture to me!

Thanks to my Rotary Slave and my borrowed machine, I should have a baby quilt back all together by tomorrow....then on to the front design!
