I'm a SWIP

Made a self discovery on Stitch and Chat's blog this morning. That's quite a jewel for a self-analyzing, psychologist such as myself. According to Jane Elliot's talk at Knit Central, she is a self-described "swip" which stands for: Shawl Wearer In Public. This was contrasted to those who only wear their shawls in private. Are there such people? I KNEW there was an expression for people like me - those of us chronically cold who always have a shawl, scarf, wrap, blanket - or all the above - with them at all times.

So I proudly embrace the new title. We're anticipating high temperatures in the 50s this next week - so my fall weight shawls will be definitely seen in public! Look out, SWIP gearing up for cool weather!

I think you look great in shawls and sweaters, especially the way you looked the other night, lover!
